International Private Law

Learn about important matters that might require legal help while living in Sweden. For internationals, it is important to understand which country’s law is most applicable

Join and you will learn about the types of information important to know regarding matters that might require legal help while living in Sweden.

Different countries have different rules regarding your private life, work, studies and other aspects of your stay in a new country – for example concerning matters of marriage, divorce, custody, inheritance, labor law, and residence.
For internationals, it is important to understand which country’s law is most applicable for settling such matters. This often requires complicated assessments that should be looked at by an expert.

The event is divided in two parts, welcome to sign up for one or both:

  1. International Private Law
Meet Tove Sjövall, an attorney with many years of experience in the field. At this event you’ll learn about what International Private law means and why it’s a good idea to have some awareness within the area. You might live in Sweden now but have history from living in another country and then certain laws apply differently. The lecture will give you an understanding of the basics about International private law. General questions will be answered.
  2. Further questions on International Private Law
Meet Tove again and take the opportunity to ask questions more in depth. To some extent more private questions can be addressed.
