ICHL-Ambassador event: When living in Sweden it is most beneficial to learn a bit of Swedish, even though most people you meet have a basic knowledge of English. At this event you will get information about Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) by our guest speakers “LundaVälkomsten Vux” and Folkuniversitetet, an adult education association. You also get to meet some of the ICHL Ambassadors who will share their experiences.
Join this event and get information about Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) by our guest speakers “LundaVälkomsten Vux” from Lund Municipality and Folkuniversitetet, an adult education association.
The most important reason for you to learn Swedish is that it increases your employment potential and can be a requirement for entering higher education in Sweden. Furthermore you will become more independent, able to interact more closely with the Swedes and get a better understanding of the Swedish culture. Knowing the language will also increase the number of people you can communicate with, and this is always joyful, right?
SFI courses are designed for newcomers who needs basic knowledge of the Swedish language. By following such a course, you will learn to speak, read and write in Swedish. You will also practice everyday conversations, as well as conversations in different workplace scenarios. After completing the course you will receive a grade that will be useful when applying for a job in Sweden.
At this event you will also have the opportunity to meet some of the ICHL Ambassadors and listen to their experiences and tips on how to learn Swedish. Some might have learned by watching movies & documentaries, some by listening to podcasts & radio shows, others by attending language cafés & seminars, or by reading books, blogs & newspapers... There are many ways to dive into a language, you just have to find your favorite!
