31 March - Learn about the Swedish tax system / Declare income tax
We have cancelled all events Spring 2020 as a precaution, following recommendations from “Folkhälsomyndigheten", the Public Health Agency, after a high alert on the spreading of the corona virus in Sweden.
The taxes paid in Sweden cover a number of services and benefits that are unique to living in Sweden. Besides funding infrastructure, social security benfits, education, health care to name a few; there exists support for the sick and disabled, pensions, care for the elderly, unemployment and businesses.
You have most likely visited the Swedish Tax Agency when you arrived to Sweden but probably are not aware of the other services this authority provides. We will have a few tax information officers here to answer questions such as; what happens with your tax money, when is it time to send in my income tax return and what can I do if I can’t submit it on time?
Take the opportunity to bring your income tax return with you, which can make it easy to follow the presentation. And of course you will be able to ask questions but keep in mind that these representatives may not be able to get into details.
The Swedish Tax Agency manages civil registration of private individuals and collect taxes such as personal income tax, corporate tax, VAT and excise tax. They also provide other services such as executing Swedish Identity cards as well as registering new businesses.
During our events we sometimes take photographs and short film clips to profile our activities. Please let us know if you don’t want to be in any photos/films before we start the event. Thank you!
