25 February - Mental well-being when moving to a new country
It’s not easy moving to a new country for the first time or even if you’re a professional expat, starting from scratch. Sometimes we all would like a little support to keep us motivated, open up to our new environment or to be able to enjoy the experience ahead. We have invited two different speakers who will guide you through their experiences and knowledge in how to get used to a new country.
Antje Swart moved to Sweden in April 2017 with her family. Her two girls age 11 and 15 have changed country three times. She is a Certified Hypnotherapist and Parts Therapy facilitator and has her own practice Holistic Hypnosis in Lund where she coaches people to regain a balanced and harmonious lifestyle.
Mental and emotional well-being for a parent is linked to the level of happiness of their child/children. While parenting itself is challenging, expats children come with an extra set of challenges which can be dealt with to ensure a smooth integration into the new home base. Hands on techniques and re-evaluating parenting paradigms pave the way to balance and harmony in the family.
Jernett Karensen is a lic. Clinical psychologist trained in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as compassion focused therapy and emotion focused couple's therapy. She has experience in helping internationals find their way and is able to do this in English at her practice in Malmö.
During our events we sometimes take photographs and short film clips to profile our activities. Please let us know if you don’t want to be in any photos/films before we start the event. Thank you!
