18 February - Volunteering, recruiting activity
WEBINAR: Volunteering is a great way to get to know new people, broaden your network, and at the same time do something good for your local community.
We have invited different organizations located in Lund that rely on volunteers for their everyday work - Eos Cares and Erikshjälpen, plus Volontärbyrån, who helps people and non-profit organizations find each other.
- Eos Cares - is the social sustainability program of the IK Eos Basketball Club. They invite everyone in the Lund region to meet, interact and develop, through a wide range of social projects and activities.
- Erikshjälpen - the mission of this non-profit organization is to reduce poverty and vulnerability by promoting the rights of the child. They focus mainly on the child’s right to education, health and protection. Erikshjälpen run second-hand stores in Lund, Malmö and many other cities.
- Volontärbyrån - helps people and non-profit organizations to find each other. They do this by mediating non-profit assignments and by educating and supporting associations in matters of non-profit engagement.
The event starts with a short presentation of the organizations seeking volunteers. Thereafter you will have a chance to interact with the organizations you have the most interest in joining. Some of these require certain levels of Swedish whilst others do not. However, they all offer great opportunities to practice Swedish with either natives or other internationals.
During our events we sometimes take photographs and short film clips to profile our activities. Please let us know if you don’t want to be in any photos/films before we start the event.
