Bilge Su Han
I believe the most beautiful paths are the winding ones, and mine has never been a straight line. I studied urban planning, then worked in graphic design, which slowly led me to communications and marketing.
From curiosity to career in Sweden
I moved from Turkey to Lund to pursue a Master’s in Management at Lund University and found more than I was looking for. My curiosity has always been my compass, and that's why each step added to the last. Now I am here, in Sweden, and I'm planning to continue my career right here, where I think is my new home.
I joined the Kick-Start Program by ICHL in Spring 2026, hoping to learn more about the Swedish job market and prepare myself for what comes next. Being international means that you need to be navigating the unknown most of the time, and Kick-Start made that unknown a little more bearable for me.
Finding support and community
Through the program I got useful practical tools to improve my CV and cover letters in a “Swedish” way, and learned a lot about Swedish work culture and how to prepare for interviews. All of that was so valuable. But something equally valuable was the feeling of being continuously supported.
Every time I left a session, I left with a really positive energy. At ICHL, I found a community asking the same questions I have, feeling the same way I feel, trying as hard as I am. It was like the uncertainty was not only mine anymore. We were all sharing it, finding ways to cope with it together. And that is actually not a small thing.
Shaping my own path
For me, being international is not a problem to solve. It's an adventure. A whole process that gives me so much to learn and discover, a long process of rediscovering myself, my surroundings, and my dreams. What matters to me is not only where I end up, but how I get there. How I move through this process, mentally and personally, shapes me just as much as the destination itself. The speakers I listened to, the people I met along the way, helped me reflect, slow down, and appreciate what this journey is actually giving me.
Along the way, it does get trickier or overwhelming sometimes. Yes, it might not be the easiest to arrive somewhere completely different, but as someone who has always been drawn to curved roads and unexpected turns, I find it all deeply valuable and, actually, also fun. I am really thankful to be a part of Kick-Start and to have found a community that helped me reflect on why I feel at home here.
